Leap Year Day Brunch, followed by Business/Planning Meeting

Sunday, February 29 - Part 1 will be the 3rd installment of "Eat Your Way Around the World from A to Z". For the letter "C", we will have crepes and coffee at a Cafe/Creperie in Manhattan, location to be announced. After brunch, we shall adjourn to my apartment in the Murray Hill section of Manhattan for a No Kidding! NYC business and planning meeting. As I recall, we haven't had one of these in over a year. Since we have many new members, this would be a good time to hold a meeting to discuss various topics, such as:

As soon as I have the details ironed out (i.e. locations and times) I will let you know. If any of you know of any good creperies and/or cafes that have a good brunch and can accommodate a fairly large group (8-12 people), I am open to suggestions.

Bring your favourite board game (make sure I don't own it first!) and join us at our second monthly poker & games night! This month we will be faturing board games, but we're flexible. E is for Ethiopian

Eat Your Way Around the World from A to Z: dinner hosted by Amanda.

Reservation is under: Amanda. RSVP to the mailing list or voicemail please. For those who have never had Ethiopian food before, it's tasty and fun to eat! Your food is served on a large platter made out of injira, the native bread, which is basically like a giant, springy pancake. You eat with your hands and tear off chunks of the bread to scoop your food with. Meat dishes and vegetarian dishes are available. Some of the specialties are beef dishes like kitfo and tibs and some chicken dishes too. Vegetarian dishes are things like split peas, collard greens, etc. Some of the dishes are pretty spicy. There is a bar with wine, beer, etc., featuring their specialty, Ethiopian honey wine (similar to mead). Hope you can join us!

Byblos serves Lebanese and Middle Eastern food. The do have a bar and serve alcohol. There are meat, seafood and vegetarian items on the menu. Price range: $5.25-13.50 appetizers, $6-7 salads, $12.50-14.50 vegetarian entrees, $12.50-$22.85 meat & seafood entrees. There is also a prix fixe "Deluxe Dinner" for $29.95 that includes appetizer combo, entree, dessert & coffee.

Why is the reservation so late at night? Because they have live entertainment on Saturday nights! Live music starts at 9:30PM, and at 11PM there is a belly dancer! And you all know how much I love bellydance. Please RSVP to Amanda. I hope all of you can attend so that I can say goodbye to you!
